Hello

Hello, I'm a lifelong lover of the water - a passion that sprouted when I was just 18 months old. My parents often said I was a "true natural" swimmer, and that deep connection to swimming has been a guiding current throughout my life.

My philosophy around swimming revolves around a simple but powerful concept - when fear and panic are put aside, the body floats. With calmness, swimming becomes an easy and natural skill. That’s why I start working with swimmers as young as eight months. Though, usually, the ability to swim while lifting the head and breathing develops between 2.5 to 3.5 years. It's nothing short of amazing to witness the instinctual kicks of infants who, at as young as 8-10 months, can already swim as long as their little lungs allow them.

I plunged into competitive swimming at the age of eight and haven't looked back since. I represented my high school team and joined the ranks of year-round training with RMSC. Eventually, I found myself part of the UMBC's Division I, Conference Champion Swim and Dive team throughout my college years. I might be overly modest, but I can't help but boast a tiny bit – I can breathe underwater (well, in a manner of speaking), and that's a point of personal pride.

Life may have taken me through different laps – I'm now a proud mom of four extraordinary kids who've given me new victories to celebrate. While their achievements are theirs alone, I can't help but feel a part of each triumph, which makes parenthood more rewarding.

Before I was old enough to drive, I began teaching swimming lessons at my local swim club during the weekends. This job continued through high school and college. Alongside giving lessons, I've coached various swim teams, taking immense joy in watching my swimmers evolve and mature. It's heartwarming to see many of them become lifeguards or continue swimming in college. And yes, some of them even have kids now who need swimming lessons – time does fly!

Staying true to my craft, I've kept my CPR and First Aid certifications up to date. It's important to me – not only as an educator and coach but as someone who values safety and readiness in and out of the pool.

I hope this gives you a glimpse into my swimming saga and my dedication to nurturing swimming skills in children and swimmers of all ages.
